๐Ÿ“ˆ Account Data

๐Ÿ’ก

To design balanced territories, BoogieBoard needs to understand the accounts that will be used to design them. Here are a few reminders: 1. For Geographical territories (ie. the Territory is a geographical area like states or zips), include the relevant geographical information. 2. For Books of Business (ie. the Account is assigned directly to a Territory or Account Owner), include a unique identifier for each account. 3. Depending on your account hierarchy structure, include the relevant Parent/Child information.

Example Account Data:

โœ๏ธ Account Data - Field Explainer

๐Ÿ’ก

Staekholders may need help understanding the intention of your Account Data Fields. Letโ€™s use this space to clarify any that are unclear. (See some examples below for common fields.)

  • Field #1 โ€ฆ.
  • Field #2โ€ฆ
  • โ€ฆ

Example Data Field Definitions

  • Unassigned Account. An account that is not assigned to a sales rep and does not have a value in the Territory Number field.
  • Region. Returns the ultimate parent accountโ€™s overall region based on billing country. Via automation, child accounts assume the Region from the ultimate parent account.
  • Sub-Region. Returns the accountโ€™s sub-region based on billing country. By design, Sub-Region can differ from ultimate parent.
  • Segment. Returns the accountโ€™s segment based on Annual Revenue. Via automation, child accounts assume the Segment from the ultimate parent account.
  • Sub Segment. More granular segment based on Annual Revenue thresholds. Via automation, child accounts assume the sub segment from the ultimate parent account.
  • Revenue Segment. Returns the combination of Region and Segment. Via automation, **child accounts assume the revenue segment from the ultimate parent account. **

๐Ÿ‘ฝ Current State - Territory Roster

๐Ÿ’ก

To create a summary of todayโ€™s territories and design the future ones, you need to understand the territory structure and the relevant account owners. The Territory Geo Pins are a way of answering the question, โ€˜What is the geographical center of this territory?โ€™ Often it is the same as the Account Owner Geo Pin.
